Travel time surveys

All surveys are undertaken using GPS equipment and associated software with travel time determined from recording the position of the survey vehicle at specified increments. This survey methodology requires only one person per survey vehicle which enables travel time surveys to be undertaken in a cost efficient way.

Data provided from this methodology is of a very high quality and is readily checked and verified after completion of the survey. All speed statistics between node points and for the entire trip is available from GPS travel time surveys including:

• Time passing each node point and total trip time
• Accurate section distance
• Average speed between each node point and for entire trip
• Speed statistics for whole survey period
• Precise delay information including location and duration of delay
